Catherine Kate Chimoyo is a Legal Associate at K.D. During her academic tenure, Catherine served with distinction as a Judge of the Students’ Governance Court, where she demonstrated principled decision-making and a steadfast commitment to justice in student governance. She also emerged as a formidable legal advocate, earning Best Oralist honours in both the Ritz Commercial Moot Competition (2020) and the Savjan Human Rights Moot Competition (2021)—recognitions that underscore her persuasive advocacy, intellectual agility, and command of legal reasoning.
Catherine has contributed meaningfully to national legal reform and policy development. Notably, she was part of the expert drafting team for the Labour Export Regulations under Malawi’s Employment Act, a milestone effort aimed at regulating the labour export market and safeguarding the rights of migrant workers. Her public law expertise further extends to civic engagement: she has facilitated workshops on Media, Electoral Laws, and Democratic Processes, offering incisive analysis on the intersection of human rights and electoral governance.
